I love how she almost drops it until she smells it and that flashbulb memory hits.

“Real isn’t how you are made,” said the Skin Horse. “It’s a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real … Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don’t matter at all, because once you are Real you can’t be ugly, except to people who don’t understand.”

Y’know what’s really irking me lately that I see over and over again on random blogs, or reblogged by friends and family or whatever? I keep seeing these posts about “My post isn’t directed at you, but if you take offense to it, that must mean you’re guilty of this” or similar things.

Yes, to an…

I actually agree with you. I’ve made a post in the past that said the same thing, or something along those lines. Out of anger, of course, and it was all because I was angry at ONE PERSON, and that person never would listen to anything I had to say privately. So I made a public post in hopes they’d see it. But I did not think about how many others it could affect. It was something that only made me angry about this one person, otherwise I would not have cared. But it applied to SO MANY PEOPLE. Thank god this person responded to me almost right away on the public post, because I did end up deleting it and never posted anything like that again. And of course, I got to thinking about how stupid it was and how anyone who may have seen that particular post could have felt really, really bad. I know I would have because I too suffer from similar anxieties/paranoia.

And we definitely all make mistakes.  What’s important is you realized what could happen and how it affected people (and hey, at that point, the problem got worked out, so that’s a double plus).

Thanks for responding!  It’s always good to be reminded I’m not just speaking to myself/I’m not the only one who thinks that way n_n’

Y’know what’s really irking me lately that I see over and over again on random blogs, or reblogged by friends and family or whatever?  I keep seeing these posts about “My post isn’t directed at you, but if you take offense to it, that must mean you’re guilty of this” or similar things.

Yes, to an extent, I agree with that, but I also have a very big problem with it.

Even if I KNOW I have no part of it, or if I’ve done something similar say… 14+ years ago… because of my mindset, because of anxieties (and the fact that sometimes people will blame you for things you didn’t even do), I DO assume automatically, without any kind of proof, that this person/friend/family member is probably referring to me.  Somehow, my mind is just fooled into thinking that I did it, I’m a horrible person, etc etc.

Now… I don’t usually respond to it.  I can usually slow down and remind myself that I’m probably just fooling myself, but that doesn’t mean the blame and thoughts stop right there.

Just because someone assumes a post like that is about them doesn’t mean they’re guilty.  Sometimes it’s just the way they think, paranoia, anxiety, depression, any number of things that make you feel like a terrible person on a regular basis.  Please keep this in mind before you go throwing around an excuse like “Well it’s not about you but I guess you’re guilty if it got a rise out of you”

Breaking news: The D.C. Appeals Court just killed Net Neutrality. This could be the end of the Internet as we know it. But it doesn’t have to be. Tell the FCC to restore Net Neutrality: http://bit.ly/1iOOjoe

they want to make the internet like tv. with channels and paying to get to specific websites and things. net neutrality = not doing that

This impacts every internet user. Please signal boost the hell out of this and sign the petition if you are American

I do not reblog things like this very often, but this affects me both personally and my business as a freelance artist.
In the economy here; cash is already strapped as it is. You bet your ass companies would suck the ever living life out of misc. art sites.
I don’t want it to ever come down to me choosing between groceries or purchasing a new tier package via comcast to be able to access tumblr or DeviantArt (let alone not guaranteeing I’ll even be seen by my customer base since they may not want to pay out their asses either). It doesn’t seem important to most, but I do 90% of my business online entirely.
Please sign up, fight for this and share it with your followers/friends/family and urge them to give them hell as well.

Not writing related, but this is incredibly important. While we pay for service via ISPs, the internet has been a relatively free space where everyone, no matter their income level, is able to connect, access a wealth of information, and express themselves. The Internet has become a major part of our culture as human beings and the notion that ISPs might be able to limit what sites I can access unless I pay them more is utterly sickening. A lot of us are cash strapped as is, and I’d rather not be limited even more by someone else’s greed. Net Neutrality is essential and I hope you guys will understand why it needs to remain.

P.S. Signal boost this if you’re able.

I don’t care who you are, what kind of blog you are, whatever.  Net neutrality is SO important, and SO worth fighting for.  Reblog this, spread it, get signatures, MAKE CALLS!  Do what needs to be done to protect net neutrality so that people who depend on open access to the web; freelance artists and writers, beginning businesses and whatnot, can still make a living for themselves.  And… really, who wants toll booths on the internet?  Boost this!  Boost the living hell out of it!  Click that little link and put your name on that petition!  It doesn’t even take a full minute!

I’m putting the usernames in a notebook to give to my family when I finally come out to them. They told me once when I was little that if I ever came out to be gay to not tell anyone because they thought I’d be judged so please reblog so I can show them that people in my generation are different than theirs.

I’m not coming out until I fill the notebook. So if you want to help?

I don’t know how old or new this is, but hey! Either way!  I’m happy to see how much support this has :3
